Professor Arnaud Martin

We heard the sad news that our friend and colleague, Professor Arnaud Martin, passed away on Monday August 21, 2023, after losing a battle with illness at the age of 49. Arnaud was a prominent member of our scientific community and an enthusiastic promoter of the theory of belief functions. He wrote nearly 250 papers and supervised around 15 PhD theses, most of which on this topic. He organized the first international conference on belief functions in Brest, France, in 2010, and was the founding president of BFAS, before serving as the treasurer of the society from 2012 to 2017. Arnaud will be deeply missed by his friends, his colleagues, and the BFAS community at large.
